A day in contact with nature, discovering Val Tidone and the torrent from which it takes its name. A stream that today is nothing but a thin sparkle in the hot summers, but which in the past represented a precious element for the territory.
It is just walking on the dirt track, following the course of this torrent on horseback between Piacenza and Pavia, which we will dive in a parallel way ... a time forgot in which the water flowed abundantly by rotating the heavy blades of the many mills that still today dot the small roads between the fields. Along the way, we will come across different types of herbs and plants, the same natural resources that the peasant wisdom used skilfully in daily activities.
Discover the history of Tidone together with the Associazione Culturale L'Altra Italia, the wealth that was for the people of the past and what it represents in the contemporary era!

The mills in Val Tidone: the Tidone course is dotted with water mills, testifying to the importance that the milling art has had for these lands. Typical of the area is the "Batarò", a beaten bread so that it was cooked quickly on the plate of the wood ovens or on the old economic stove of the house.
Diga del Molato: The building dates back to the '30s and collects the waters of Tidone. This dam, 55 m high, 180 m long at the base and 322 m above the front, has an architecturally interesting aspect and is one of the most important water barriers in northern Italy. To this day it forms the Trebecco artificial lake
Nibbiano: Ancient village dominated by a castle that dates back to the year 1000. The village was strategically important as it was placed at the confluence of two roads towards the Liguria along the Val Tidone and towards the Trebbia Valley.
