The European go-to country is Croatia for cruise tours. Land of the thousand islands. The West-Balkan country may be considered small, but its coast is no shorter than 1700 kilometres, and its people heart is just great. Any visitor will see how proud Croatians are about their land and sea.
Even better, locals will talk about this to you in perfect English, or German!
The country is rich in islands and aquatic life which makes Croatia a cruising heaven. Harbours to whip in and out from with cruisers or smaller boats are littered all over the region of Dalmatia and each one is a bit different. At the North, visitors will encounter less touristic waters that are home to bottlenose dolphins and in the tourist paradise of the South monk seals. In Croatia cruise vacation makers have the option to join Sharewood in an organized tour for 2 weeks, visiting the beauty of this country.
The first weeks starts like this: After leaving the port of Murter, we will cruise south, towards Trogir, a city close Split, and a UNESCO heritage site, famous for the church of San Giovanni but also for its summer evenings.
The next stop that the crew will visit is the island Vis, which over the centuries has been known and occupied above all for its strategic position at the military level, as testified by the two castles that are located in the two main cities, Vis and Komiza. Today the island is a real Croatian touristic paradise.
We will then proceed to Korčula, the greenest of the archipelago, which houses one of the best preserved medieval centres of the Mediterranean and a bell tower that overlooks the sea, and the harbour of our Croatian cruiser.
The trip will continue to Hvar, the longest island of the Adriatic, halfway between Split and Dubrovnik, famous for having the most hours of sunshine throughout the Adriatic, and also for its night, and party life.
North of Hvar we’ll meet the islands of Šolta and Brač, which beauty and tranquillity are unmatched far and wide.
