The region, characterized by the presence of the national park of Altyn Emel, offers huge valleys and rare landscapes. The tour will take you to discover all the beauties of the park, from the Charyn Canyon to the lakes of Kolsai, passing through the singer dunes and ancient sepulchres. Kazakhstan may not sound like an everyday choice for holiday, even in the context of trekking but it is about to change. Trekking in Kazakhstan is an awe-inspiring adventure where the night is spent in tents and the path is lit with stars. Immerse yourself in the endless mountainside with a small group.
The journey starts with sightseeing at Kyzylauyz petroglyphs and a picnic surrounded by nature. Then, continues with a visitation to the Besshatyr burial mounds. The first two night is spent at the Altyn Emel hotel.
The morning lights will lead to a unique place called the Singing dune. The dune is about 120 m high and 3 km long, located in one of the most beautiful corners of the park. Later the participants will take part in a guided tour of the Katutau and Aktau mountains.
We will also visit the “Castle Valley” and the Charyn Canyon which resembles the Grand Canyon. After so much sand and rock, it’s time to see the Kolasi lakes, known as the Pearls of the north Tien-Shan. They represent perfectly this unique landscapes, thanks to the wild nature that surrounds them. And nothing is better to explore them then a – optional – horse riding tour!
After, the tour takes a turn to the local pine forests at 2000m high. The temperature and the conditions of the place allow the maintenance of a unique vegetation and landscape. During the following day, participants will take part in a guided tour of the Issyk gorge, and mountain lake. Here we will find time to learn about the history of the country, and it’s national symbols.
